How to Choose the Right E-Juice for Your Tank

Choosing the right e-juice for your tank or vaping style can be hit or miss, but with a little information, we can make choosing your e-juice a little easier! Keep reading to find all our tips for choosing the right e-juice for your tank!

Choosing the right e-juice for your tank is never a simple or straightforward job. Every vaper is different and personal preferences can play a massive part of any choice of e-juice. As much as we want to say if you’re using this tank and this coil then you should use this e-juice, we can’t. What we can do however is point you in the right direction and help you narrow down your choices.

The first thing that you need to decide is what you want out of your vaporizer and what you want out of your vaping experience? Do you want to blow some seriously big clouds, or are you more interested in just quitting smoking and not going back? Or, are you sitting somewhere in the middle? All these variables will influence the e-juice you choose as well as the vaporizer and vape tank setup you’re running.

Before we jump into what type of e-juice you need, we’ll take a quick look at what e-juice is and what it’s made from. E-juice is really quite simple. It’s made up of four main ingredients.

Propylene Glycol (PG)

This is a thin liquid with no flavor. It gives you more of a throat hit like a traditional cigarette and helps to carry flavor in your e-juice. By itself, it doesn’t produce a lot of vapor.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG)

VG is responsible for the large fluffy clouds of vapor. It is a thicker liquid and has a slightly sweet flavor.

This is pharmaceutical grade nicotine specially developed for e-juice and is measured in MG. Nicotine has a strong taste, and it can affect the flavor profile of your e-juice.

This is the fun and exciting part of e-juice! There are thousands of different flavor profiles for vapers to choose from

If you’re new to vaping and looking to quit smoking or have recently quit smoking traditional cigarettes and don’t want to go back, then you need a high nicotine e-juice. This will also determine the type of vaporizer that you choose. High nicotine e-juices limit your choice in flavor but are also no good for cloud chasers and sub-ohm vaping because vaping high nicotine e-liquids too much can make you feel sick.

When you first start vaping, you want a no-nonsense tank that can give what you need, nicotine to help with the cravings for cigarettes. You need to start with a higher-level nicotine e-juice like an 18mg or 24mg, with a 50/50 PG/VG ratio or 30/70 PG/VG ratio, and then when you have a few days or weeks cigarette free, start transitioning down to lower levels of nicotine. You need a simple vaporizer like a pen style eGo. Nothing fancy, just something that will help you get over cigarettes. Once you have had a few weeks or months off of the cigarettes, you can start looking at different e-juices and different vaporizers.

When you’re ready to start experiencing some more high-powered vaping, you want to look at some of the awesome sub-ohm vaporizers and coils. This will allow you to blow bigger clouds, but also experience more delicate and subtle flavor profiles. Higher powered devices also allow you to choose higher VG ratio e-liquids with lower nicotine levels. Sub-ohm setups are usually running 80/20 VG/PG e-juices with low nicotine levels.

Choosing the right e-juice for your tank is much like asking which computer is better. There are a lot of variables involved in the entire process, and a lot of them will come down to your personal preferences. Sure, a cheap computer can do some of the same things as an expensive computer, but there are other tasks which it can’t do. You need to decide what sort of vaping experience you’re looking for, how much your budget is, and what you’re willing to spend going forward. Bigger vaporizers require more batteries, bigger and more expensive coils, and chew through a lot more e-juice than their smaller counterparts.

Happy Vaping!
